Who we are
PlugInSun operates PlugInSun.co.uk and is the data controller for personal data collected through this site.
What we collect
- Newsletter sign-ups: first name (optional), email address, region, and a record of your consent including the time it was given.
- Rooftop solar enquiries: name, email, phone, postcode, property details, and your consent to be contacted by vetted installer partners.
- Calculator use: the anonymous inputs and results of a calculation, saved only when you choose to save an estimate. No name or contact details are attached.
- Outbound click events: which product link was clicked, from which page, and any campaign parameters. These are not linked to your identity.
Lawful basis
We rely on consent for marketing emails and for passing enquiry details to installer partners. We rely on legitimate interests for aggregate, non-identifying analytics that help us keep the site useful and accurate.
Sharing
Rooftop enquiry details are shared only with the installer partners needed to respond to your request, and only with your explicit consent. We do not sell personal data.
Retention
Newsletter records are kept until you unsubscribe, plus a short period to evidence consent. Enquiry records are kept for up to 24 months. Anonymous calculator and click records are retained in aggregate.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can request access to your data, correction, erasure, restriction, portability, and you can object to processing or withdraw consent at any time. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
